Today I was able to see The Man from U.N.C.L.E starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, and Alicia Vikander. For those of you who don't know, this film is based on the t.v show in the 1960's.
Once upon a time in the 1960's, American spy Napoleon Solo and Russian spy Illya Kurykin have to team up along with Gabby Teller to stop a secret criminal group from using Gabby's father to build a nuclear bomb. The thing is, Solo and Illya aren't exactly alike. Throughout the mission, they must learn to work together instead of aiming their fists at each other.
A lot would expect this to be a typical James Bond type film, but that isn't entirely true. This film satisfies those in need of action, comedy, and a small dose of romance. Although there are a few predictable moments, we also see some surprises. From suspense to slight mystery, you may up wondering who's working for whom and who can be trusted while watching this.
My favorite actor in this is none other than Armie Hammer. The first time I saw him was in The Lone Ranger. (A film that I actually loved.) For an American actor, Armie's acquired Russian accent in this film is very impressive. In Henry Cavill however, his charming womanizer personality seems not-so-unusual.
Overall, I think this film is pleasing enough. Did you like this film? Tell me in the comments! If you need, like I said, action, comedy, and a small dose of romance, go see The Man from U.N.C.L.E!
